It's sort of an awkward word, yet it paints a clear picture: it is support; it is reinforcement that works to strengthen; it is accompaniment.
It is how I have always operated as a philanthropic leader for the last decade plus. I have moved with humility, listened deeply, and have rooted myself in my values, using them as a jumping off point for the strategy development and grantmaking I have done.
In this way, I have come to see myself as a bridge between the worlds of capital and movement, working with each to strengthen and support in service of unlocking more resources and power for communities while building greater values alignment, knowledge, and understanding among donors.
I bring issue area expertise in civic engagement, powerbuilding, and immigration enforcement to my practice. Prior to Bolster, I ran c3 and c4 civic engagement grantmaking at The Four Freedoms Fund and Four Freedoms Action Fund, and served as a program officer on the Heising-Simons Foundation and Heising-Simons Action Fund's Education Team and Human Rights teams, where I introduced an intersectional grantmaking lense and a focus on immigrants to both portfolios.

I can embed in your organization to support ongoing program officer or program director work across a number of different issue areas. This goes beyond transactional consulting support to effectively being an extension of staff.

I am available to product program management support, from conception to execution and then evaluation of time-bound projects. I am epecially adept at landscaping new issues and developing a perspective on new grant making strategies.

I work with individuals to help them develop greater clarity on their values and how to align those values with their philanthropy.
